Samsung NC10 ubuntu linux, JavaFX

Hmmm... so here i type on my netbook and thanks to voRia my linux setup is similar or as close as possible to the factory settings of samsung on windows XP

Ubuntu Netbook edition
All the necessary scripts to make power management and hotkeys work on ubuntu

Truly shows how all you really need is the right websites. Anyway, the point of this post is to delve into JavaFX. Unsurprisingly it is not supported on Linux. Option 1 is to download virtualbox and windows 7

Careful googling leads you to linux workarounds =)
However, the first link does not work to download the modules. Please use this link instead

Then when you have all the nbm files downloaded and renamed, add them to netbeans by following these instructions.

Now for the power of JavaFX....

Oracle how we luv thee

.... and your irritating obscure 'features'. I stumbled upon this poor blogger hitting exactly the same error as me.

Basically...
* Do anything in Oracle SQL Developer (free java sql query application generously donated by Oracle) and you will get an obscure ORA error. Good luck Sun, i hope you wont fall into the dark clutches of random errors too soon

UPDATE!! Flavio is a genius!!! For some odd reason, when using Oracle SQL Developer 1.5.0 i lost the ability to use Ctrl+C and F9 keyboard shortcuts. This made my SQL Developer useless!

However the fix comes from going to Tools->Preferences->Accelerators and clicking the "Load Preset" button. Thanks Flav!

[EDIT: apologies... i'm just having an extremely bad day =/]

Report service my heart out

Hmmmm... today i dont seem to be able to grab that 12:30 lunch. Why is that you ask my devoted readers? The bane of my lunch hour seems to be Micro$oft's excellent product Reporting Services. With 'excellent', i say with a heavy heart

Now herein lies the problem with such a great product. Say you have a ordinary standard report, excellent features of Reporting Services allows you to export as PDF, Excel, CSV and many other excellent choices (hmmm... today's word seems to be 'excellent' =/)

Any ordinary user/developer/doorknob would expect that if you export your file as an Excel file, it should look similar or the same as a CSV file - or at least the data does. Surprise! Welcome to redmond, please stick your neck out at the reception desk where our staff will promptly suck your blood out!

The CSV and Excel export look exactly the same EXCEPT the first row of data is MISSING!!!. Thank you Microsoft, you have a great product. Let me tell you how great it is....

Looks like this poor guy didnt get much help either, sorry mate i feel for ya =/

If you know of a workaround, please save me from my pain!
